900μ Strain Relief Boot
Item# EFA70 07 001
Passing a 900-micron-buffered fiber through a hole in the bulkhead poses danger to the fiber from sharp metal surfaces. A further complication can be sharp bends in the fiber due to tension being applied to the fiber at an angle to the bulkhead, causing signal loss.

The EgideUK EFA70 07 001 strain relief boot fits through a hole of approximately 4.5 mm in diameter, and is held firmly in place by wider sections on either side of the bulkhead. The 900µ fiber is passed through the strain relief boot and then affixed to the boot with a drop of "Super Glue" or equivalent. The boot protects the fiber from the metal bulkhead surfaces and edges, and prevents unacceptable bend radii due to pulling on the fiber.
